Lance Armstrong a accomplished cyclist was banned professional cycling and stripped of his seven Tour de France titles. Why? Lance had an interview with Oprah Winfrey and confessed to using performance-enhancing drugs for the past decade.
People were devastated by this news. CNN asks if Lance should get another chance and a lot of people replied to the issue( most replies were bad).
Frida Ghittis had this to say " Lance Armstrong's story of triumph over adversity captured the imagination of millions around the world, including people like me, who don't usually spend a lot of time absorbing in following sports news. That's because Armstrong's achievements-- recovering from cancer and then breaking records in the cycling world-- made him a source of inspiration, an icon of hope. They also made his lies all the more disappointing. Armstrong didn't just lie about cycling. He lied for a decade, and deceived all those who found inspiration in him'.
Randy Cohen said " The important ethical question isn't whether Lance deserves a second chance. Chance to do what? Cheat in seven more Tours? Lie about it seven more times? Bully seven more teammates into doping? He behaved badly and is rightly censured. But that should be the beginning, not the end, of this disheartening story. There's a lot more blame to go around. Cycling's governing bodies also have an ethical duty, and that's to provide a setting in which honest athletes can participate.
In conclusion I believe Lance shouldn't get one more chance. He used a drug to increase his chances of winning, that's okay if you do it maybe for a week, but for an entire decade are you serious. He shouldn't even be allowed to touch anything that even looks like a bike. When are people going to learn that hard work an determination is the only path to go. But nowadays there are so many shortcuts that cause people to be lazy, which is disgusting. If I were Tour de France I make sure Lance never comes near another tournament!!!!

Civil War in Syria
The war in Syria has been generating a lot of violence affecting 2.5 million and causing 200,000 people to flee the country. The refugees have been traveling to nearby countries, including Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon. As the war escalates more and more people move into other countries which is causing a drastic decrease in their resources.
The war is between the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the Anti-regime protest fighters. Bashar blames the terrorist and actors for this war. But the regime want to establish a democracy in Syria and taking help from the al-Qaeda and the big question is should we intervene?
If it were I say no because we have our own country to attend to. They have to deal with this problem themselves just like any other country. Why is it people living together just can't get along and agree on equal rights for everybody. It seems like every time someone is granted power they abuse it and try to change the country into their image.
This is just like Bush, because of some oil we had to sacrifice thousands of soldier's life. He didn't do it for the good of the country he did for money.
Anyway the U.S said their trying to find an effective to stop the war without shedding anymore blood. But, they will intervene if chemical weapons are used.
The fight is monitored by the U.S who are making sure none of the sides our using B.O.W's( Biological Weapon). It's hard to tell how long this going last but I hope it ends soon because this lat thing this world needs is another long war.

All Work and No Play
Children need more play time
Do you remember what your childhood was like? I remember playgrounds filled with kids swings, slides, tag, and running space that seemed infinite. No matter what time I went to the playground I saw kids with smiles on their faces, excited that they could be free.
But as I grew older the playground population drastically declined(at least in my neighborhood). Even in school recess got canceled most of the time. I pondered to myself why would they take away something so fun.
Finally I got the answer; academics. School was essential to life and was said to be more important than play time. But, actually, play time is just as important.
School supplies knowledge and solutions on how to solve mental problems . But I can give you five reasons why play time is better.
In conclusion Play Time is crucial to a child's life growing process. If you are a parent and don't give your children any play time then.... YOUR A HORRIBLE PARENT. You are contributing to your child's depression( which can lead to suicide). If I were you I would take my child to the playground instead of poisoning them with TV.

- Play gives children a chance to find and develop a connection to their own self-identified and self-guided interests.
- It is through play that children learn to make decisions, solve problems, exert self control, and follow rules.
- Children learn to control their emotions, including anger, fear, greed etc.
- Play helps children become more social and treat everybody as a equals.
- Most importantly, it's the main source of joy.

Should 16-year-old drive
By Ted Gregory
Is 16 the right age to get a driver's license,I say yes but others are shaky on the decision.
Researchers for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety say the answer is no and they have statistics to back there statement up. They say raising the driving age makes sense and says lives at the same time.
The Governors Highway Safety Association President Adrian Lundi is going to increase the age restriction even further. Linnea Greci, 15, had a different point of view to the change. She said " I don't think it matters what age you are, as long as you have the practice and experience."
The institute wrote a 17 page report on driving ages. The report showed their progress of decreasing the No.1 cause of death to teens-motor vehicle crashes. Another reason the district is so keen on teen drives.
Illinois has enacted teen driving reforms. The reforms included doubling adult-supervision hours needed to get a license and tripled the time a teen must posses a learners permit. This reforms have already ceased teen driving deaths for first seven months of this year.
Even with this decrease Lundi is still worried. He said " we're still losing a lot of teens on the roads each year." It was said that over 5000 teens are killed per year.
The institute reveals in their recent research that " license's handed out at older ages would substantially teen related crashes. They also provided an example of what would happen if driver's license wait time was increased.
In New Jersey the minimum age required is 17, and a study made from 1992-96. The results said that crash-related deaths among 16-17 years-old was 18 per every 100,000, they it compared to Connecticut's 26 per every 100,000, which had the driving age at 16.
In the report it was also noted that when a graduated license law was enacted that the fatality rate fell 33%. Studies also concluded that a teens brain developments contribute's to the accidents. It's said that there young minds are immature and craves sensual arousal and attention. It's also said that peer pressure and distraction are key benefactors.
In conclusion I agree that teens shouldn't drive. There irresponsible and are worried more about the car their driving then obeying the laws. Besides kids should focus more on schoolwork and success before obtaining a car. This is a message to all those parents wasting money on cars for their kids birthdays: STOP RIGHT NOW!!!

Marijuana law creates criminals By Hakeem Jeffries
In 2011 over 50,000 people were arrested for possession of marijuana in New York. The majority of people arrested were black and Latino and to pay a judicial and financial. It is also said that $75 million is spent every year for marijuana.
The state decriminalized this 30 years ago, causing anyone caught with possession less than 25 grams must pay a $100 fine. Even with this law the arrest rate has shot up with over 400,00 people arrested putting marijuana possession at No. 1 for arrests.
The cause of this is mainly the NYPD fault because hundreds of thousands of people are either questioned, searched or frisked and found with marijuana. However no punishment is applied to the offenders and over 90% of them get off with nothing.
But possession in public is a crime and when people are asked to show everything in their pockets and the police see marijuana they are locked up and charged with misdemeanor possession which is punishable up to three months in jail with a $500 fine.
This basically shows that if you aren't seen by a cop in public then it's not a crime, however if you don't submit to the officer's demands then your charged with resisting arrest(punishable up to six months-two years in jail). This is seen as a crooked method to use.
The unethical thing about the arrest is that there only in particular neighborhoods and arrest more Latinos and blacks. This gives people the assumption that the police are bias, but studies show that whites are also constantly arrested in other neighborhoods.
This is waste of law enforcement time as they could be busting armed gun men or stopping thieves, but their putting more time and effort into the youth who pose a lesser threat.
In conclusion New York needs to focus on the bigger crimes ahead first and then attend small matters last. Teens will be teens so of course there going to do things like this no matter anybody does so don't enforce them to stop smoking because that's going to push them to do it more. If the police see him in the streets then of course he/she should be arrested but asking people to empty their pockets that's wrongful use of power.

Philadelphia superintendent identifies schools he intends to close
Philadelphia Superintendent William R. Hite Jr. will have over 37 schools shut down but June 2013. The biggest reduction in the school districts history.
The results of the school closings are insane: 17,000 students and 2,000 staffers would be affected. This would save the district $28 million. Overall, 22 elementary, 4 middle, and 11 high schools throughout Philadelphia.
Hite said that the jobs lost will depend on the positions. Teachers won't be affected as much but staff and principals are at great risk since one school doesn't need an extra teacher or a few more staff.
Hite vowed that the district would invest heavily in programs and safety to help the remaining 200 schools thrive.
One reason the district decided to close the 37 schools because they had to borrow $300 million to pay bills and paychecks. The $28 million would go to the fused schools and school programs.
They also say that some schools are under-enrolled like Shaw Middle School in Southwest Philadelphia has room for 1,071 students, however they currently have 193 students.
Hite also commented that the district was failing academically with 82% missing the mark in math or reading and 68% failed in both."Those data are simply unacceptable and the closings would repair," Hite said.
Hite then said "believes very strongly that our public-school system is an institution worth saving".
Statistics show that over the last decade over 50,000 students were lost, mostly to charter schools. "Mainly the superintendents decided to kick and kick the can and let the next person deal with it."
The district has a reuse plan to replace the grade within the schools. The changes would be K-6 becoming K-4, 5-6 to K-8.
Vaux a high school would open as elementary school for the students of Meade and Reynolds school. Some schools would trade schools like Abigail Vare Elementary would move to George Washington Elementary.
In conclusion I think this is just a lie to gain more money for the district. They don't care about the students welfare there more concerned about how they would pay off debts instead of the academically success of students. I can't stand the stuff that happens in Philly especially when comes to education.

Justin Bieber's murder, castration plotted, police say
By Micheal Martinez
A plot to kidnap and kill pop singer Justin Bieber was discovered when two suspects were pulled over yesterday.
Mark Aaron Staake, 41, and Tanner Runae, 23, were pulled over by a Border patrol agent at High-gates Springs. The agent arrested Staake when looked up his records and saw he had a warrant for a felony parole violation.
Tanner, however was released along with the BMW but later on that day told the plot when he visited Dana Martin who was suspected to be the mastermind of the plan.
New Mexico inmate Dana Martin who was originally charged with rape and murder of 15 year-old who lived in Vermont was called by Tanner who allegedly was talking to Martin about Staake's arrest.
Police say that Dana's motive to kill Justin was he tried calling Bieber who didn't respond and this infuriated Martin causing him to formulate a plan to capture and castrate J.B and his bodyguards.
Martin also stated he would do the castrating himself, and the weapon used would be hand-held hedge clippers; Tanner added that he would be doing the castrating himself.
Dana then stated he would get five large for each and Runae would get 2,500 per testicle.
Dana, Tanner and Mark were taken for two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and two counts to commit aggravated battery.
Police are still looking into the case as we speak to find more information.
These are some sick people I mean your going to castrate 4 people and sell them. That's disgusting you should be in jail and who would by testicle's there's not like anything can be done with them.
He should just get life along with the other two I mean there so much else to do get a job, play a game or get a hobby don't cut off other people's testicles and sell them.
